Trail du Grand Genève is a late-May trail running weekend based in Geneva, Switzerland, offering races from short family events to mountain-style long courses. The main options include 40 km, 25 km, 12 km, and 8 km formats, plus walking races, children’s races, a parent-child 1 km, duo and relay versions of the 40 km, and the steep Ultra Montée du Grand Genève.
The longer routes traverse both sides of the Swiss-French border, connecting parts of Greater Geneva from Lake Geneva toward the Grand and Petit Salève. Runners may follow sections near the Arve and Seymaz rivers, use the greenway, and climb enough to make the 40 km courses a true trail challenge, with approximately 1,400 to 1,500 meters of ascent. The event is designed for a diverse field: trained trail runners, walkers, children, older participants, and the many cultures residing around Greater Geneva, with the organizers also emphasizing gender parity as a core value.
