About this race
Granfondo Marcialonga Craft is a road cycling granfondo held in Predazzo, Val di Fiemme, within Italy’s Trentino Dolomites. It takes place annually on the last Sunday of May or the first Sunday of June. Riders begin near the ski-jump area in Stalimen and finish in the same town. The event is organized by the Marcialonga organization, which also runs the winter ski granfondo and Marcialonga Running. Its first edition had approximately 1,400 participants. Cyclists can select from two routes: an 80 km route with 2,488 meters of elevation gain, or a 135 km route with 3,900 meters of elevation gain.
The course crosses roads in the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, extending into the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno. It includes ascents of the Val di Fassa, Passo Costalunga, and Passo di Pampeago, passes Lago di Carezza, and directs the longer route via Moena toward Passo San Pellegrino and Passo Valles in Veneto before descending through Parco Naturale di Paneveggio. These roads are notable cycling climbs; Pampeago and San Pellegrino have been featured in the Giro d’Italia, and the region has hosted significant stage finishes. The event also features a Mini Cycling ride and a fixed-gear category, accommodating more than just standard granfondo bikes.
