The Lönsberg Klim Classic is an annual cycling tour organized by OWC, starting in Oldenzaal, Netherlands, near the German border. Participants can select routes of 85, 110, or 135 kilometers, offering a challenging regional ride or a more demanding climbing experience. This event caters to cyclists seeking hilly terrain over flat Dutch roads, with the Lönsberg and the undulating area near Uelsen providing the character for the longer distances.
The course travels through Weerselo, Ootmarsum, Vasse, and quiet country lanes before approaching the border region close to Halle. A refreshment stop is available at Blekkers Hofcafé, marking the point where routes diverge. The 85 km route ascends the Lönsberg, passing its observation tower, before heading back to Oldenzaal through Lage, Lattrop, Denekamp, and the Tankenberg. Riders opting for the 110 km and 135 km distances will complete an additional loop around the hilly Uelsen area before merging back with the shorter route. The 135 km distance is recognized for the Brevet des Cyclistes.
