Rev 3 Back Bay is a sprint-distance multisport race held at Public Landing in Snow Hill, Maryland. It begins at 8:00 a.m. on a September morning. The primary triathlon consists of a half-mile swim, a 15.5-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run. The same event also features a sprint duathlon, sprint aquabike, and a relay team division. The race commences at Public Landing, located at the end of Public Landing Road outside Snow Hill on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The course is flat and fast, suitable for first-time participants and experienced athletes aiming for a swift sprint time. The duathlon replaces the swim with a 1-mile run before the shared bike segment and the final 5K. The aquabike includes only the swim and bike portions. This event was previously known as the Osprey Triathlon. Current results are categorized by triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and relay, with participant lookup and gender filters accessible online.
The Talaria Trail Run is a fall event held at Trap Pond State Park in Laurel, Delaware. Both a 4.5-mile race and a 2-mile walk begin at noon. The race follows the Bob Trail, a loop around the 90-acre Trap Pond. This main event is short enough for newer trail runners while still offering a full circuit of the park’s main path. The course winds through hardwood forest, crosses a dam, and utilizes boardwalk bridges over freshwater swamp areas. Proceeds from entry fees benefit Legacy Academy. The walk option allows participation for those who wish to join without competing on the full trail loop.
Running: Salisbury runners keep it practical, with Salisbury City Park and Zoo, Riverwalk Park, Pemberton Historical Park, Schumaker Park, and Naylor Mill Forest Trail doing a lot of the daily work. 3 miles. The longer routes go 5 miles or more, so base miles happen before breakfast. Locals line up for Salisbury Marathon, Salisbury Half Marathon, 21st Annual Ben Layton 5K Run/Walk, The Pemberton 24, and eRACE The Stigma 5K RUN/WALK.
Cycling: Salisbury riders get a flat Delmarva setup with 63 mapped routes covering 6,647 km, so Z2 days can stretch without much drama. Ocean Velo Club sits in Salisbury and pulls riders from across Delmarva for year-round training and social rides. Sea Gull Century is the anchor event, and Salisbury University sends riders onto 100-mile, 63-mile, and 40-mile routes through Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties. The climbs live in little pieces, because the Salisbury Marathon course has a couple of overpasses and a small incline leaving the Salisbury University tunnel. The marathon course climbs 4 km total, which tells you the local rhythm pretty clearly.
Season: July and August bring the most riding, and Salisbury’s humid subtropical weather gives the city hot, humid summers with average July temperatures around 25°C. Locals still get out early, because the heat and humidity of recent early morning runs can be a challenge, and a breeze at 5:30 a.m. feels like a small win. Winter changes the mood more than the terrain, because January averages 3°C and Salisbury gets cool to mild winters. Eastern Shore Running Club cancels for icy or hazardous courses and extreme cold at 5°F or below, while riders keep the base miles shorter and steadier when the mornings turn dark.
