About this race
The Millican Summer Series is a six-race 5K series held at Millican Reserve near College Station, Texas. Each race takes place on a Thursday evening at 7 p.m. CDT, with a kids run starting at 6:45 p.m. This schedule accommodates families and adults seeking consistent summer racing. The entry fee is $10, which includes chip timing and a finisher medal. Participants registering for all six races receive a $10 discount.
The race setup is straightforward: packet pickup is on race day from 5:50 to 6:50 p.m. Runners are issued a bib with a chip, and the start line is located approximately 0.4 miles from the parking area, with clear signage. The series emphasizes consistency alongside speed, calculating each runner's four best finishes for an awards party. Prizes are awarded for overall points, age groups, most consistent, and most improved. Weekly times determine points, and age groups are established based on age at the first race, with divisions incrementing by 10 years. First Light Racing organizes these events to benefit the Lone Star Running Project, focusing on providing solid trail races at an accessible price.
