IRONMAN 70.3 Switzerland

IRONMAN 70.3 Switzerland is a middle-distance triathlon in Rapperswil-Jona, on the Upper Lake Zurich. The race covers 70.3 miles in total: a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a half marathon. The swim uses the clear water of the Obersee, the upper part of Lake Zurich, providing a Swiss start before athletes move onto the bike. The bike leg follows the lake and rolls past green pastureland before the race returns to town for the run. The half marathon is split into two 10.5 km loops through Rapperswil’s old town, passing Fischmarktplatz and climbing the “Stairway to heaven” steps up toward the castle. The field draws athletes from beyond Switzerland, and the strongest finishers can earn places at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
