Les Foulées de la Rue

Les Foulées de la Rue is a city road race in Beauvais, Oise department, Hauts-de-France. Runners can select between 5 km and 10 km distances, with both main races following single-loop courses through the city streets. The event also features children’s and junior races, making it suitable for families and adults seeking a short, organized run. With over a thousand participants in the last edition, it is a local race of sufficient scale to feel active without becoming an overwhelming running festival. The name reflects the format: the race guides participants from street to street around Beauvais, with the tagline “Va de Rue en Rue!” emphasizing its urban setting. It caters to beginners wanting a manageable distance, experienced runners aiming for a quick 5 km or 10 km effort, and marathoners using it as a tune-up run. The race also strongly supports local solidarity, with proceeds benefiting the Les Foulées de la Rue association in their distribution of meals and hygiene products to Beauvais residents in need. The slogan, “I run, I am supportive,” is demonstrated through tangible actions, such as the association distributing over 3,600 meals last year.

Triathlon de l'Argentine en Piscine - Beauvais

Triathlon de l'Argentine en Piscine is an April triathlon held in Beauvais, Oise, north of Paris. The swim takes place in a pool, not open water. It features short-format racing: the S distance includes 750 meters swimming, 20 kilometers cycling, and 5 kilometers running. The XS distance covers 400 meters, 10 kilometers, and 2.5 kilometers. A youth race offers a 50-meter swim, 1-kilometer bike leg, and 500-meter run, welcoming beginners, younger athletes, and standard short-course triathletes. The race is organized by Beauvais Triathlon, a club established in Beauvais in 1986. It originated within the Beauvais Olympique Universitaire Club, with backing from the local cycling club and the city. The club later became independent, establishing a notable history in French club competitions. They have secured multiple Grand Prix titles for their men's and women's teams, won Coupe de France titles, and seen their athletes achieve individual French championship victories. This event is part of the club's schedule, which also includes the June Triathlon de Beauvais (L distance) and a November run-and-bike event covering 4, 9, and 18 kilometers.

About cycling & running in Beauvais

Beauvais Training Notes

Running: Locals keep running simple in Beauvais, with easy laps around the Plan d'eau du Canada and steadier miles along the Thérain and Avelon. L'A.C.A.Beauvais gives the scene a proper base, with Tuesday sessions at 6:30 PM in front of the Léopold Louchard gymnasium and Thursday meetups in front of the Jules Ladoumègue stadium. The club vibe is courir pour la santé dans la plus grande convivialité, and that fits the town. Les Foulées de la Rue is the anchor road race, while Les courses du Canada, the trail of Beauvais, Festi'run Beauvais, Frappadingue Beauvais, and L'Hivernale de Milly-sur-Thérain keep the calendar moving.

Cycling: Locals ride Beauvais as a small Oise scene with a bit of everything. BEAUVAIS BIKE is the obvious call for VTT, VTC, Gravel, and electric assist bikes, and BBCO and BOUC also sit in the local club mix. The Route electrique bycicle - Beauvais gives you a tidy workout, because the route spans about 31.2 kilometers and gains around 347 meters. The wooded hills give the climbs their bite, with altitude moving from 63 to 174 meters. The plan works for base miles, Z2, gravel spins, and punchy intervals when you want a short crit-style effort.

Season: Spring owns Beauvais training, and April to June usually gives runners and riders the cleanest rhythm. Autumn hits almost as well, because September to November brings mild days and enough freshness for longer Z2 work. Summer asks for early starts or late evenings on the bike, and locals still get their miles in around the Plan d'eau du Canada before the day gets heavy. Winter changes the kit choice first, because frequent rain, fog, and possible icy paths make caution part of the ride. Runners keep going, and the local calendar still has that L'Hivernale feel.
